Sir, 

Captain John A. Sutter of California is appointed Indian Sub-Agent on the Sacramento river, and Sub-Agent Adams Johnston will be confined to the Valley of the San Joachim.

You will please cause an appointment to be made out and transmitted to Capt Sutter with the necessary instructions, and also advise Mr Johnston of the change that made.
